Splatter Clay Bowl
Searching for new markets for the pottery of Tonaltepec, that decayed swiftly from its millenary tradition, this family of bowls have been developed and have rapidly become a success. There are four sizes that exist for different uses from serving snacks or soup, to holding salad at the table.
These pottery pieces are among the few in the world that use vegetable pigments for decoration. The dark brown color of the stains is achieved when, upon pulling them out of the kiln, at a temperature close to 900°C, the artisan applies an ink made from cactus and oak bark.
